Activities Aide Job Summary

As an Activities Aide at Absolut Care of Gasport, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by creating a stimulating and engaging environment. Our person-centered approach to care emphasizes the importance of socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional support, and we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team.

• Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities, social events, and outings that cater to the interests and abilities of our residents
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere
• Assist in preparing for and participating in activities, including arts and crafts, games, and entertainment programs
• Provide support and guidance to residents with daily living tasks, such as dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity schedules
• Collaborate with other departments, including nursing, social services, and dietary, to ensure a holistic approach to care

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., recreation therapy, gerontology) an asset

• Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
