Duties & Responsibilities Purpose Of Position

Under direct supervision of Chief Financial Officer, to oversee the operational, financial, and administrative functions within the perioperative services of the hospital. This role involves managing the surgical services cycle, from pre-operative assessment through post-operative recovery. The administrator ensures smooth operations, resource allocation, compliance with safety standards, and the delivery of high-quality patient care in the operating room (OR) and associated areas.

Oversee the daily operations of the perioperative services, including scheduling surgeries, staffing, and resource management (equipment, instruments, supplies).
Coordinate the activities of perioperative teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical technicians.
Monitor patient flow through pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative stages to ensure efficiency and minimize delays.
Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure adequate staffing levels in the operating room, recovery units, and other perioperative areas.
Develop, manage, and track the perioperative department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Work with the finance department to monitor billing, reimbursement, and financial reporting related to surgical procedures and patient care.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
Lead quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, reducing complications, and increasing operational efficiency.
Coordinate with medical staff to provide clear communication to patients and their families about surgical procedures, preparation, and recovery.
Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, patient outcomes, and other performance metrics.
