Respiratory Therapist

Cassena Care is seeking A Regional Director of Respiratory Therapy provides strategic and operational leadership for respiratory care services across multiple skilled nursing facilities within New York State. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality respiratory care, regulatory compliance, staff development, clinical excellence, and the implementation of best practices to improve resident outcomes and facility performance.

The ideal candidate is an experienced respiratory therapy leader with strong knowledge of long-term care operations, New York State regulations, quality initiatives, and interdisciplinary clinical management.

• Provide oversight and direction for all respiratory therapy programs across assigned facilities.
• Develop, implement, and standardize respiratory care policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality respiratory services consistent with evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and improve clinical outcomes related to respiratory care, including COPD, pneumonia, tracheostomy management, oxygen therapy, and ventilator services.
• Collaborate with Medical Directors, Pulmonologists, Nursing Leadership, and Rehabilitation teams.

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, CMS, and New York Department of Health regulations.
• Lead respiratory program readiness for surveys, audits, and inspections.
• Monitor documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate clinical and regulatory risks.

• Analyze quality metrics and develop action plans to improve outcomes.
• Lead respiratory-related quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor infection prevention practices related to respiratory care services.
• Support reduction of hospital readmissions through enhanced respiratory management programs.

• Oversee respiratory therapy staffing models and productivity across facilities.
• Assist with budgeting, supply management, and equipment utilization.
• Evaluate respiratory equipment needs and recommend capital investments.
• Ensure facilities maintain adequate respiratory equipment, supplies, and emergency preparedness plans.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop respiratory therapy staff and managers.
• Provide clinical education and ongoing competency training.
• Conduct performance evaluations and establish professional development plans.
• Promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.

• Partner with facility Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and regional clinical teams.
• Participate in strategic planning and growth initiatives.
• Serve as a respiratory care subject matter expert for leadership and clinical teams.
• Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, and referral sources.

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive respiratory therapy leadership experience.
• Minimum 3 years of multi-site, skilled nursing, subacute, or long-term care experience.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and New York State Department of Health requirements.
• Demonstrated success in managing clinical programs and improving quality outcomes.

• Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field.
• Experience managing ventilator and pulmonary rehabilitation programs.
• Experience supporting multiple skilled nursing facilities.
