Why Tru MedicalTru Medical is an award-winning adult primary care practice serving East Williamsburg and Clinton Hill in Brooklyn. We are a NYS-accredited Patient‑Centered Medical Home, a multi‑year insurance quality award winner, and our patients rate us 4.87 stars. Our providers offer primary care, women's health, chronic care for diabetes and hypertension, ultrasound, walk‑in visits and telemedicine.
Our mission is Quality Affordable Care for All. Many of our patients are Spanish‑speaking, and for a lot of them we are the first office where someone listened. We are small enough that providers and managers know your name, and we are growing, so people who live our values move up.
How we work:Trust, Respect, Understanding
- We listen, repeat back, and clarify. With patients and with each other, we say back what we heard and ask "is that what you meant?" before we act.
- We know our patients’ names. People are not chart numbers here.
- We help even when someone is having a hard day and taking it out on us. We stay kind, stay professional, and keep trying to solve the problem.
- We ask for help when something isn't working. Nobody here is expected to struggle quietly. Speaking up early is a strength.
- We know when to step away. If a situation is heating up, we pause or bring in a teammate so the patient gets a better outcome.
- We take initiative. When there is no patient in front of us, we ask a teammate or manager, "what can I help with?"
- You want to do only what is in your job description and nothing else.
- You take it personally when a patient is upset, or you need to win the argument.
- You would rather guess than ask a question, or hide a mistake than flag it.
- Downtime means phone time.
- You are looking for a short stop. We are building a team that stays.
- Greet every patient by name, check them in and check them out
- Schedule appointments and help patients with referrals
- Answer calls routed from our call center; repeat back what the patient needs before you act
- Verify insurance, scan and fax documents, keep the chart accurate
- Stay calm and helpful when a patient is frustrated, and bring in a teammate or manager when it will get a better result
- Between patients, ask the team what you can take off their plate
