Insurance Verification Specialist

Premier Hematology is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team full-time. In this role, you'll be the first line of defense in making sure our patients' insurance coverage is confirmed and authorized before treatment, so our clinical team can focus on care.

• Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments and treatment
• Obtain prior authorizations and referrals required by insurance payers
• Contact insurance companies to confirm coverage limits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs
• Accurately document and update insurance information in the patient record/EHR
• Coordinate with billing, front desk, and clinical staff to resolve coverage discrepancies
• Track and follow up on pending authorizations, denials, and appeals
• Explain insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients as needed

• Prior experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare administration (specialty/oncology practice experience a plus)
• Working knowledge of major insurance payers, prior authorization, and referral processes
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent phone and written communication skills
• Experience with EHR/practice management software preferred

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Pay: $20–$23 per hour, based on experience

Location: Queens, NY (on-site/hybrid/remote)
