The Agency Safety & Health Director 1 serves as the enterprise coordinator and quality assurance lead for occupational health and safety programs at the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. The role provides agency-wide leadership on workplace safety, health concerns, violence prevention, and regulatory compliance while coordinating efforts across multiple departments. This full-time position reports to the Director of Employee Relations and may be filled at one of ten regional locations across New York State.
Keyqualifications:
- Seven years of experience developing and administering occupational health and safety programs in organizations with 500+ employees or multiple locations
- One year of service as an Agency Safety and Health Representative 2 (for internal promotion candidates)
- Associate degree or higher may substitute for 2-7 years of specialized experience depending on degree level
- Experience with workplace violence prevention, injury management, and regulatory compliance programs
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and provide executive-level recommendations on health and safety matters
