Lead Billing Clerk

Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, a community-governed non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential health resources to our community, is seeking a skilled Lead Billing Clerk to join our Patient Accounting team in Springville, NY. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely billing of our patients' accounts.

• Examine and bill all accounts receivable primary and secondary claims, including Government, Medicare, Workers Compensation/No
  
  Fault, and commercial carriers

• Review mail correspondence, denials, and handle phone calls from insurance companies and patients, ensuring timely submission and claim resolution

• Assist in the analysis of open claims, verifying timely submission and claim resolution as needed, and prevent lost revenue by timely filing of issues/denials

• Transmit all electronic claims and prepare trial balance reports for inpatient, Medicare, Medicaid, and other carriers

• Process denials and insurance explanation of benefits

• 3 years of medical billing experience with both professional and institutional claims, spanning all types of carriers

• Experience with eClinical
  
  Works, Claim Master, and/or HMS is a plus

• High School Diploma or GED

• Competitive salary: $19.59 - $21.56 HOURLY, based on experience
