We're looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact.

Cases are in Highland and New Paltz. This is a per diem position.

What you will be doing:

• Teaching new tasks
• Assisting in the creation and achievement of life goals
• Planning activities within the community
• Working independently while collaborating with other team members

Experience:

• Working with individuals that have IDD preferred but not required

Education and/or

Experience:

• High School Diploma/GED is required; an associate degree is preferred.
• No experience required; one year of related experience is preferred. Working as caregivers or with adults with developmental disabilities.

• Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for the individuals
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
• Be able to attend mandatory trainings as needed

Requirements:

• Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
• Use of your own vehicle - Mileage reimbursement available

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

The employee must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
