Assistant Executive Housekeeper

As the Assistant Executive Housekeeper, you will assist in managing the housekeeping functions, staff, and daily operations to ensure that guest rooms, public spaces, and employee zones are clean and well maintained. Your role includes inspecting areas of responsibility, developing improvement plans, directing the team to execute housekeeping operations, and striving to continually improve guest and team member satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all housekeeping policies, standards, and procedures.
- Understand the impact of the department’s operations on overall property operations.
- Review staffing levels to meet guest housekeeping, operational needs, and financial objectives.
- Distribute room cleaning assignments and manage prospective check‑outs or discharges.
- Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
- Ensure all team members have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Communicate areas that need attention and follow up to ensure completion.
- Participate in departmental meetings and consistently communicate clear departmental goals.
- Use available on‑the‑job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow‑up training.
- Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members.
- Schedule team members according to business demands and track time and attendance.
- Administer property policies fairly and consistently; complete disciplinary procedures and documentation according to policy.
- Observe team member behavior and provide feedback.
- Recognize and celebrate team members’ achievements.
- Assist in interviewing and hiring of qualified team members.
- Empower team members to deliver excellent customer housekeeping service.
- Emphasize guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
- High school diploma or equivalent; hotel or college training preferred.
- Minimum of three years of housekeeping supervisory experience in a full‑service hotel.
- Strong understanding of operational controls, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in a labor‑organized environment preferred.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer management platforms.
- Excellent time management and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Self‑motivation and a can‑do attitude with a hands‑on approach.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on days, nights, holidays, and weekends as required by the hotel.
