There aren’t many jobs more fun than spending time on a private yacht helping make magical memories for families, friends, and co-workers. BIG APPLE CHARTERS is the only female-owned private charter business in the New York City area, and we are hiring detail oriented, high-energy stewards!! Our fleet is expanding and our service is very unique. Full- time head steward and some part time positions for high demand days.

We are looking for crew members for a private yacht charter in Manhattan. You must be responsible, reliable, outgoing, hardworking, and enjoy meeting new people. Making guest feel welcome and comfortable while adhering to safety protocols will be a big part of what you do. The other very big part is making sure the boat is kept clean and tidy while paying attention to detail.

The iconic skyline and harbor views are an amazing way for our guests to spend time. You will be a big part of their experience narrating/sharing information about the harbor and New York while ensuring detailed service and yacht excellence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Greet guests and help orient them to the vessel

Assist Captain with docking

Manage all guest services including serving food and drinks

Assist with guest decorations, activities, hosting, etc.

Maintain vessels interior and exterior before, during, and after charter

Create a friendly, inviting environment for passengers. Taking photos, being attentive to their needs and paying attention to little details are important

Build a team environment with crew on our vessels to ensure a safe and unforgettable experience for our guest on every cruise.

Handle all guest and employee issues on our vessels in a professional and courteous manner.

Customer Service oriented

Ensure all guests are adhering to yacht safety guidelines

Always appropriately groomed, dressed in a clean uniform/attire

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year working in hospitality

Must be comfortable being on the water

Must be physically able to lift 20 pounds

CPR and First Aid credentials a plus

Basic computer skills

Social Media Savvy

Flexible schedule is required - Mornings, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays

Must be Local

Must be able to pass drug test

Season will run April 1 till November 30. You will be paid year-round but will work 8-9 months of the year during the season with an intense schedule. In the off season when the boats are not in the water you will have very little responsibilities (maybe 10-20 hours a month) This position will start Mid March.

  • You will be required to participate in a random drug testing consortium. Are you able to pass a screening and random drug testing? This includes marijuana products as we are federally regulated and abide by federal laws.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York, NY for a Head Yacht Steward/Host at Big Apple Charters. The Head Yacht Steward/Host will manage and oversee all hospitality services onboard the yacht, including attending to guests, coordinating food and beverage delivery, and ensuring a seamless and luxurious experience for all guests. Responsibilities include supervising and training the hospitality team, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness and organization of guest areas, managing dining and event setup, and addressing any special requests or needs by guests to ensure their satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills to ensure guest satisfaction and address their needs effectively.
  • Experience in Food Service and Food & Beverage management for organizing and delivering meals and refreshments efficiently.
  • Proven ability to train and lead a team to maintain high standards of service quality and hospitality.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple responsibilities and address guest requirements promptly.
  • Previous experience in luxury hospitality or yachting is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to yacht operations is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and adaptability to meet guests’ schedules and needs.
