Position Summary

The Night Manager oversees all hotel operations during overnight hours, with primary responsibility for Front Office operations, night audit, and hotel safety and security. This role supports the Front Office Manager in departmental operations including planning, staffing, and payroll, ensuring all activities align with hotel policies, procedures, and brand standards.

Essential Duties
  • Support all Front Office team members and enforce The Manner service standards in all supervised areas
  • Manage and oversee nightly Front Office operations and staff assignments
  • Conduct nightly shift briefings for overnight staff
  • Communicate nightly activities including group and VIP arrivals, special requests, and repeat guests
  • Perform routine inspections of Front Office and public areas to ensure appearance reflects positively on the hotel, brand, and company
  • Coordinate the night shift across departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of the nightly audit process
  • Oversee preparation of daily summary and audit reports
  • Collaborate closely with Housekeeping to enhance guest service delivery
  • Report any suspicious persons or activities
  • Address and cover staff shortages during the shift and proactively plan for future staffing needs
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure outstanding guest issues are resolved
  • Complete reconciliations and assigned projects within established timelines, including preparation of supporting documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Set luxury service expectations and standards of presentation, language, and professionalism; ensure consistent execution across all guest touchpoints.
  • Build a high‑performing team culture focused on empowerment, discretion, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Hotel Management or Business Administration)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Front Office or Guest Services
    • Strong operational background preferred
    • Experience with OPERA and Revinate systems is a plus
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow established procedures
  • Fluent in English
  • Basic knowledge of wine and classic cocktails preferred
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time‑management skills
  • Adherence to uniform, grooming, hygiene, and sanitation standards per SOPs
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance, including mandatory meetings
  • FLSD certification preferred
  • Professional conduct aligned with The Manner, New York policies, and brand expectations
  • Strong mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving, organizational, motivational, and training abilities
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Hotel Management or Business Administration)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, move, and engage guests for extended periods in a guest‑facing environment.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds for VIP amenities or operational needs.

Minimum: USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Maximum: USD $75,000.00/Yr.
