Location: New York

The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for supervising the front desk team to ensure all guests experience meet expectations from the moment of check in. Responsible for settling guest accounts in a manner that is consistent with the standards and policies of The Peninsula Hotel.

  • Providing world class and personalized service to all guests by providing a warm and friendly welcome to all guests checking in and throughout their stay.
  • Organizes, directs, and monitors daily activities of front desk agents.
  • Ensures efficient, friendly, and professional guest registration, check-out, and telephone service; supervise front guest service agents to ensure that established procedures are followed.
  • Establishes procedures, prepares, and expedites workflow, holding team members accountable while on shift.
  • Reviews current day’s expected arrivals and checks all VIP and special request reservations to ensure that they are pre-registered, blocked properly, and other departments are notified of room assignments.
  • Performs front desk agent responsibilities as needed to process guests in a timely manner including but not limited to checking guest into hotel, responding to guest questions, resolving guest problems/concerns, answering telephone, making guest reservations, and checking guests out of hotel.
  • Ensures that guests’ needs are fulfilled, and their stay is as pleasurable as possible; assists with dining, entertainment, or transportation reservations as needed.
General Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum 2 years of previous hotel experience, preferably in a supervisory role, in a luxury market.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills, be able to work well under pressure with a variety of people.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and understand and work well with cash and basic accounting principles.
  • Computer operations experience (keyboarding skills).
  • Must possess an aptitude for guest service and have a cheerful, positive attitude.
  • Must be fluent in English, and fluency in at least one foreign language is preferred.
