We're looking for fun, dynamic, motivated and entrepreneurial full and part time receptionists at NYC's best hostel – The Local. We are seeking bright, passionate people with a knack for hospitality. NYC tourism is resuming and guests are flooding back from all over the world. Our dynamic team is gearing up for a fun summer!
In this role, you will interact with intrepid travelers and share your favorite parts of NYC with them. Self‑motivation and trustworthiness are a must as you will be making important decisions on your own. A large part of the job is interacting with guests and conveying excitement and knowledge about New York City. You will play a vital role in our front‑of‑house team, representing our brand and setting the mood for our guests' experience at the hostel.
Prior experience working with computers and phones is required.
We are looking for receptionists willing to work part time or full time, including weekends and holidays. Overnight shifts (11 pm–7 am) are also available. Everyone is expected to work weekends and holidays.

Opened in 2014, The Local NY is an upscale hostel that operates with the following core principles: affordability, cleanliness, accessibility, safety and security, excellent customer service, and creative and contextual design. The Local sleeps 146 guests in 37 guest rooms. Most rooms are 4‑bed shared dormitories with private bathrooms. The Local has generous common space, including a café, bar, event space and rooftop deck.
The café/bar operates as a coffee shop by morning and a full bar in the afternoon/evening. The Local is a closely‑held, locally‑owned business.
