PositionPurpose
The Jr. Maître d’ is responsible for delivering a gracious, seamless, and highly personalized arrival and dining experience for members and guests. This role serves as an ambassador of the club, ensuring each interaction is handled with warmth, composure, and discretion. In partnership with Membership, Front Office, and Food & Beverage teams, the Jr. Maître d’ seats pre-plotted reservations with care and precision, upholding the highest standards of service and hospitality.
Responsibilities- Welcome members and guests with warmth, confidence, and professionalism, creating an exceptional first impression.
- Oversee reservations, seating arrangements, and dining room flow with thoughtfulness and precision.
- Maintain seating charts and floor plans in collaboration with the Membership team to support a seamless member and guest experience.
- Anticipate preferences, accommodate special requests, and resolve concerns with grace, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Partner closely with Membership, Front Office, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure alignment and continuity of service.
- Communicate with members and give guest feedback, preferences, and service opportunities to the appropriate teams.
- Take initiative in partnership with F&B team to ensure the pace of the dining room(s) is meeting expectations.
- Support additional front-of-house responsibilities as needed to ensure a polished and seamless operation.
- Prior experience in a luxury hospitality, private club, or refined restaurant environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of reservations management, seating flow, and elevated guest relations.
- Proficiency with Seven Rooms, Micros, Toast, Resy, or similar guest management systems preferred.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and service recovery skills.
- Experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or similarly refined service setting is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a polished presence and a naturally gracious approach to service.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to remain composed, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused in a dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to move safely and efficiently through front-of-house and dining areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements associated with service operations.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
