Location: The Standard, High Line
Reporting to: Director of Housekeeping
Job Purpose: The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing the overall operation of the housekeeping department under federal, state, and local standards and guidelines.
Main Responsibilities- Manage and motivate a team of housekeeping employees through coaching and development.
- Anticipate customer needs, adapt goals, and multitask as required.
- Work with rooms management systems and maintain operational competence in housekeeping processes.
- Maintain a budget and control labor costs and expenses.
- Use independent judgment for decision‑making and interact effectively with all levels of management, guests, associates, and clientele.
- Accomplish goals with strong responsibility and self‑motivation.
- Maintain knowledge of general office PC applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
- Demonstrate organizational, coordinating and communication skills.
- Execute cleaning schedules, inspections, and special projects for housekeeping staff.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and arrange repairs or replacements.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including disinfecting devices before and after shifts.
- Prepare reports and keep project spreadsheets updated and accurate.
- Assist the Director of Housekeeping with additional tasks as needed.
- Oversee daily housekeeping activities: room assignment, cleaning, inspections, and maintenance reporting.
- Organize and direct staff to uphold guest satisfaction.
- Supervise, schedule, and train new housekeeping personnel.
- Maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment at minimum levels.
- Uphold cleanliness, safety, and conduct standards, including OSHA compliance.
- Ensure proper equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs.
- Lead special projects with housekeeping staff.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 lb. without assistance.
- Perform tasks requiring grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or throughout entire work shifts.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Work safely with sharp objects.
- Be exposed to hot and cold temperature extremes.
- $68,500 – $78,500 per year
