LocationThe position is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Times Square at the iconic Row NYC hotel. The hotel features 1,331 newly built guestrooms and is surrounded by major attractions and cultural venues.
OverviewThe Project Painter is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with a focus on painting throughout the property.
Responsibilities- Ensure building walls and items are painted in a presentable manner.
- Perform furniture repair and related maintenance tasks.
- Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
- Perform work in accordance with local, state, and federal codes.
- Paint designated areas and finish sheet rock as required.
- Repair all types of wall coverings.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and/or experience in a hotel or a related field.
- At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
- Trade school and/or college coursework in a related field is helpful.
- Flexible and willing to work long hours when needed.
- Manual labor ability: able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
- Maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Strong listening, clarifying, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Effectively handle problems by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving as necessary.
- Apply complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives.
- Cross‑train in other hotel related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
