The Opportunity
As the Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the hotel's daily operations and overall performance.
You’ll lead by example, inspire a culture of service excellence, develop department leaders, and help ensure every guest experience reflects Marriott brand standards and Colwen Hotels' commitment to exceptional hospitality.

What You'll Do
As Assistant General Manager, you'll play a key leadership role by:
- Leading the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Accounting.
- Serving as an operational leader on property, ensuring department leaders remain aligned, accountable, and focused on achieving hotel goals.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences through consistent execution of Marriott brand standards and service excellence.
- Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and developing associates while building an engaged, high‑performing team.
- Creating a positive workplace culture through regular coaching, recognition, and professional development.
- Partnering with department leaders to improve operational efficiency, guest satisfaction scores, and overall hotel performance.
- Conducting regular property inspections to maintain exceptional quality, cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal.
- Assisting with annual budgeting, forecasting, labor management, expense control, and financial reporting.
- Monitoring business performance and implementing strategies that improve profitability while enhancing the guest experience.
Collaborating with the General Manager to execute strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures. - Leading by example with a hands‑on, service‑first leadership style that motivates associates and supports operational excellence.
What You Bring
We're looking for a hospitality professional who combines operational expertise with a genuine passion for people and service.
Qualifications include:
- 2 to 3 years of progressive hotel leadership experience.
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Hotel Manager, or similar hotel operations leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage, and Accounting.
- Proven success coaching, developing, and leading high‑performing teams.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor costs, expense controls, and overall financial performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
