The Property

Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the No

Mad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.

The Role

We are on the lookout for a dynamic Banquet Captain to join our team and report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. In this role, you'll thrive in our fast‑paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and projects with flair, efficiency, and independence.

Main Duties
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and efficient dining experience.
  • Oversee event space, managing banquet server assignments, seating arrangements, and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of our extensive menu and beverage list, confidently answering guest inquiries and offering recommendations.
  • Ensure all food and beverage services meet the highest quality standards and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Motivate and mentor banquet staff, providing ongoing coaching and support to optimize their performance.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized event space, upholding the high standards of The Ned.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking supplies and equipment.
  • Contribute to a positive and cohesive work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of experience as a server in a high‑volume, fast‑paced event environment.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and delegate tasks effectively.
  • In‑depth knowledge of fine dining service etiquette and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests of diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least eight hours.
  • Fast‑paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least twenty to sixty pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.
  • Must be able to use a step ladder.
