Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Department
Location:
New York, NY – The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel (part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation).
Oversee all housekeeping operations to ensure guests receive extraordinary service and stay within the highest standards of hospitality. Liaise between the housekeeping and front‑office teams, uphold health and safety regulations, and lead the team in a fast‑paced, luxury hotel environment.
Responsibilities- Assign housekeeping boards and maintain accurate records of assignments.
- Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, and offices for cleanliness and quality.
- Respond to and resolve guest complaints promptly to achieve full guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with other departments to address service issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manage lobby, guest rooms, hallways, and front‑area appearances during shifts.
- Develop departmental schedules based on forecasted business levels and handle payroll.
- Review supplies and maintain inventory for the department.
- Conduct training sessions for team members, including Hyatt Compliance Training, Sexual Harassment, OSHA, Service, and Cleanliness training.
- Ensure monthly meetings and training are scheduled and completed.
- Perform closing duties: review assignment status, complete follow‑up actions, and prepare the department for the next shift.
- Represent the property in all matters related to guest safety, security, and satisfaction.
- Warm and hospitable personality with a strong drive to assist guests.
- Ability to work collaboratively across all hotel departments.
- Minimum of two years of front‑office or housekeeping management experience in a luxury or lifestyle hotel.
- College degree in hospitality or a related field.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficient in mathematical calculations and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of property systems:
Windows, OPERA PMS, Kronos, Rex, Birch Street, HotSOS. - Flexible to work a variety of schedules, including AM, PM, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with NYC unions is desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting up to 75 lbs., and handling luggage and boxes.
Annual salary: $70,000 – $75,000.
