Event Chef
Weekender Hotels is looking for an experienced, energetic Event Chef to join our culinary team. This is a great opportunity for a chef who loves the combination of creativity, high-volume execution, and the energy that comes with weddings, private events, conferences, and other special gatherings.
You'll be part of a growing hospitality company where no two events are exactly alike — and where your work is a huge part of the experience our guests remember.
What You'll DoAs our Event Chef, you'll help lead the culinary execution of special events from prep through service and breakdown.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and execute menus for weddings, private events, conferences, and other special events
Lead and coordinate event kitchen staff during service
Organize prep lists, production schedules, and event timelines
Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to Weekender's quality standards
Coordinate closely with event, service, and hotel teams
Assist with menu preparation and execution based on event needs
Maintain appropriate food quantities and timing throughout events
Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures are followed
Help manage event prep, service, and post-event cleanup
Train, support, and motivate other culinary team members
Jump in wherever needed to make sure the event is successful
We're looking for a chef who is:
Experienced in professional kitchens and/or event catering
Comfortable leading a team during busy service
Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities
Calm under pressure
Passionate about food and hospitality
Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-heavy periods
A strong communicator who works well with both culinary and front-of-house teams
Willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in wherever needed
Event experience is a major plus, especially weddings, private events, catering, or high-volume service.
Where You'll BeThis position is based at Great Pines in Old Forge, NY, located in the heart of the Adirondacks.
It's the kind of place where your coworkers can quickly become friends and your days off can be spent hiking, boating, skiing, fishing, exploring the Adirondacks, or just enjoying everything the area has to offer.
The Weekender CultureWe're a growing hospitality company, and we're building something special.
We believe in working hard, having fun, taking care of our guests, and taking care of each other. We're looking for people who aren't afraid to jump in, solve problems, and do whatever it takes to make an event great.
You'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of events and menus rather than doing the same thing every day.
Season / ScheduleWe're hiring for the upcoming season, with the potential for longer-term opportunities as our company continues to grow.
Because events happen when guests need them, this role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-heavy dates.
Room & BoardHousing may be available for qualifying seasonal employees. Housing availability, cost, and eligibility will be discussed during the hiring process.
Why This Opportunity? This isn't just another kitchen job.
It's an opportunity to:
Work in one of New York's most beautiful destinations
Build your event and hospitality experience
Work on weddings, private events, and special functions
Lead and develop a culinary team
Be part of a growing hospitality company
Explore the Adirondacks on your days off
Potentially continue with Weekender beyond the season
