Cleaning Job

Will clean areas such as offices, departments, corridors, waiting areas, stairwells, elevators as well as patient rooms and treatment areas. Will handle and properly dispose of waste.

• Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing.
• Ensuring all rooms and department areas are cared for and inspected according to The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards.
• Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies.
• Notify supervisor of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
• Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace them when appropriate.
• Adhere strictly to rules and regarding health and safety.
• Will handle the waste.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Prioritization and time management skills.
• Working in a fast pace environment without compromising quality

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred
• Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred
• Customer-oriented and friendly

Licenses and/or Certifications

• Potential of needing a valid NYS Driver License
  - May be asked to drive to sites for business-related activity.

The employee will be on their feet most of the day. A great deal of lifting is involved up to 50 lbs.

Knowledge of the English language

Ability to measure cleaning supplies

Must be able to work in a harmonious manner with all other departments. Must be able to map out assignments and complete them in a timely manner.

Potential exposure to chemicals and communicable diseases and related waste (including bodily fluids).
