Overview

We are seeking a hands-on HR Operations professional to serve as the second-in-command to the Head of HR at a growing, high-performing hedge fund. This role is central to the firm’s people infrastructure and will touch every aspect of HR operations, from onboarding and payroll to compliance and employee lifecycle support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly discreet, and eager to take ownership in a lean, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with the Head of HR to manage day-to-day HR operations across the firm
  • Own onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation, systems access coordination, and employee data management
  • Administer HRIS, ensuring accuracy of employee records, compensation data, and reporting
  • Coordinate payroll processing and serve as the primary liaison with external payroll providers
  • Manage benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and employee inquiries
  • Support compliance initiatives, including employment documentation, audits, and required filings
  • Assist with performance review cycles, compensation processes, and annual HR initiatives
  • Coordinate background checks, immigration matters, and other sensitive employee-related processes
  • Help develop, document, and improve HR policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support ad hoc projects related to firm growth, new hires, and operational enhancements
Qualifications
  • 3–6+ years of experience in HR operations, people operations, or HR administration
  • Prior experience in financial services, hedge funds, asset management, or similarly fast-paced professional environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and HR systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable wearing multiple hats
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
