Hourly rate: $50 - $60

A well-established financial services organization is seeking an experienced interim HR Generalist to provide hands-on HR operational cover for a parental leave. This is a true full lifecycle HR role, which will be execution-focused, requiring strong Workday experience, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide end-to-end HR operational support across payroll, benefits, compliance, employee lifecycle management, and Workday administration, acting as a central point of coordination across internal teams and external vendors.
- Support bi-weekly payroll processing, including payroll audits, data validation, allowance entry, and funding coordination with Accounting.
- Reconcile payroll-related contributions, including 401(k), Transit, and Dependent Care, with Accounts Payable and benefit providers.
- Process weekly commissions and settlement-related payroll activity.
- Pull and analyze Workday reports to conduct HR and payroll data audits.
- Troubleshoot benefits and payroll feed issues and reconcile benefits billing discrepancies.
- Process benefits-related invoices in Salesforce and support 401(k) beneficiary update communications.
- Process and manage employee life events in and outside of Workday.
- Liaise with leave providers and Workday to manage employee leave processes.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits eligibility, coverage, deductions, claims, pay, attendance, and leave.
- Manage COBRA and retiree benefits populations.
- Support compliance activities including non-discrimination testing (401(k), FSA, DCA), 401(k) eligibility monitoring, true-up support, and state reporting.
- Prepare recruiting files, support background checks, and configure, release, and track onboarding tasks in Workday.
- Coordinate onboarding integrations with IT and external vendors.
- Support hires, terminations, interns, and employee data changes in Workday.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Workday-related issues.
- Demonstrable experience operating in a full-lifecycle HR Generalist role within financial or professional services
- Comfortable working within a small, highly efficient, and agile HR function, supporting the full spectrum of people-related activities
- Strong, hands-on Workday experience
- Advanced Excel capability for reporting, audits, and reconciliations
- Extensive experience supporting payroll, benefits administration, and employee data processes
- Able to work independently and confidently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
