About the Role:The Recruiting team at Betterment plays a critical role in helping the company scale thoughtfully and efficiently by attracting exceptional talent across our business. We partner closely with hiring managers, People partners, and leadership to build diverse, high-performing teams that support Betterment’s long-term growth.
We’re looking for a Technical Sourcer to support high-priority hiring initiatives across technical roles. In this role, you’ll focus on proactive talent sourcing, market mapping, and candidate engagement, helping to build strong pipelines and deliver a great candidate experience. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role ideal for someone who loves research, outreach, and creative sourcing strategies.
This role is based out of our NYC office. The contract duration and other details will be discussed during the interview process. Below we've reflected the compensation range we would offer for this position. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to experience and performance.
- New York City: $45-$50 per hour
- Partner closely with Recruiters and Hiring Managers to understand role requirements, ideal candidate profiles, and hiring priorities
- Proactively source candidates through Linked In Recruiter, GEM, referrals, and other creative sourcing channels
- Build and maintain strong pipelines for active and future roles across multiple functions
- Craft personalized, compelling outreach messages to engage both active and passive candidates
- Conduct initial resume and profile screens to assess alignment with role requirements
- Track sourcing activity, pipeline health, and outreach performance to inform sourcing strategies
- Ensure an inclusive, thoughtful, and positive candidate experience throughout the sourcing process
- Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, and best practices
- 3+ years of experience in a sourcing or recruiting role, either in‑house or agency
- Proven experience sourcing for technical roles in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong research skills with the ability to identify and engage hard‑to‑find talent
- Experience using ATS and sourcing tools (Greenhouse, Linked In Recruiter, Gem, preferred)
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to tailor outreach to different audiences
- A strong commitment to building diverse candidate pipelines and inclusive hiring practices
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with recruiters and cross‑functional partners
- A proactive, curious mindset with a desire to continuously refine sourcing strategies
