The Human Resources Division is seeking candidates for the position of a Part‑Time Staff Analyst I who will provide a full range of Human Resources (HR) support and program implementation activities. The role involves analytical work, database and spreadsheet maintenance, and preparation of communications and analytical reports.
The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, professional, and capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks. They communicate effectively and provide reliable, accurate support in a fast‑paced environment, contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities- Organize and conduct hiring pools and new hire orientations.
- Facilitate onboarding of new hires; provide new hire information, collect HR paperwork, liaise with Investigations Unit, coordinate start dates, etc.
- Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
- Collect and analyze data using quantitative analysis and other research techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive reports of findings with recommendations for improved efficiency.
- Screen, evaluate new hire candidates’ qualifications to ensure title qualifications are met.
- Follow up and liaise with employees, managers, units, and other agencies to resolve hiring issues.
- Maintain departmental records and update related documents.
- Prepare letters, memos, and other documents.
- Answer telephone calls, route calls to appropriate staff, or take messages and greet visitors.
- Act as backup for staff as needed and assist with overall HR and administrative support functions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
A master’s degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies, or a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full‑time professional experience in one or more of the following: budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, fiscal or economic research; operations research, organizational research, program evaluation; personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning or administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning or evaluation, or fiscal management.
An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full‑time professional experience as described above.
A four‑year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of satisfactory full‑time professional experience as described above.
A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at a rate of 30 semester credits for one year of experience. All candidates must have a high school diploma.
