Senior Recruitment Consultant, Insurance Division Full-Desk / 360° Role About Oliver James

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Senior Recruitment Consultant to join our thriving Audit team. This is a true 360° position, split equally between business development and delivery, and is suited to a driven recruiter who is ready to take ownership of their market, develop long-lasting client relationships, and build a profitable desk within a high-performance, collaborative team.

This role offers significant autonomy, a clear pathway to Principal and Management, and the backing of a globally recognized brand within the insurance recruitment space.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management (50%)
  • Proactively identify and win new business across the insurance sector
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of established insurance clients, acting as their trusted talent partner across multiple disciplines and seniority levels
  • Conduct client meetings, pitches, and presentations to win retained and exclusive mandates
  • Negotiate commercial terms and service agreements, ensuring sustainable and profitable partnerships
  • Build market intelligence on hiring trends, competitor activity, and emerging talent needs within insurance
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to strengthen your brand and pipeline
Recruitment & Candidate Management (50%)
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across mid-to-senior level Audit appointments
  • Source, headhunt, and engage passive candidates through Linked In, referrals, and your own market network
  • Conduct in-depth candidate interviews and competency assessments, providing detailed qualification notes to clients
  • Manage candidate pipelines, interview processes, offer negotiations, and onboarding
  • Build lasting candidate relationships that generate referrals and long-term placements
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records across the CRM system
What We're Looking For
  • Proven track record as a 360°/Full-Desk Consultant in any specialized recruitment market
  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and grow client relationships
  • Strong commercial acumen — understands fee structures, margin, and how to build a profitable book
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all stakeholder levels
  • Self-motivated and resilient with a natural drive to exceed targets
  • Organized and methodical — able to juggle multiple live roles and client processes simultaneously
  • Experience in a specialist or niche market is highly advantageous
