Overview

Role: Payroll Manager

Location: Long Island City, Queens, NY

Office Policy: Hybrid 3 days/week on site post training

Pay: $115,000/year

Requirements: Bilingual Spanish/English, multi-state payroll processing

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll administration for union and non-union employees. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish and have hands-on experience managing payroll systems such as Workday or Oracle. This role is responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with state and federal regulations, and timely processing for all staff.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for both union and non-union employees.
  • Maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy in wage calculations, deductions, and benefits.
  • Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) for union employees.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws and reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related journal entries for Finance.
  • Partner with HR and Finance teams to support audits, reporting, and system updates.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally, both in English and Spanish.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including union payroll management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
  • Proficiency in Workday or Oracle payroll systems (required).
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll laws and union contracts.
  • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and communication skills.
Preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.
  • Experience in a mid-to-large organization or multi-site environment.
