Senior Compensation Director
Location: New York, hybrid working model
Compensation: $250k – $275k base
We are seeking a Senior Compensation Director to act as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, driving the design and execution of broad-based and equity compensation programs for a privately held, high-growth organization. This is a high-visibility role for a consultative, analytical, and influential compensation leader.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO, C-suite, HR, and business leaders on global compensation strategy and decision-making.
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of equity and long-term incentive (LTI) programs, including stock options, RSUs, and other instruments.
- Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, acting as a liaison between compensation teams, business leaders, and HR partners.
- Provide data-driven insights, modeling, and recommendations to support complex compensation decisions while balancing competitiveness, internal equity, and financial constraints.
- Guide annual compensation planning, bonus programs, merit increases, and calibration discussions to ensure pay-for-performance alignment.
- Influence and drive consensus on compensation philosophies, frameworks, policies, and communications globally.
- Deliver training and education to HR and business leaders on compensation programs and equity plans.
- 10+ years of progressive compensation experience in top-tier companies or consulting firms (Mercer, Radford, WTW, Aon, etc.)
- Deep expertise in equity compensation and LTI plan design and execution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and Excel/data modeling skills; experience with HR systems (Oracle Compensation, Payfactors) preferred.
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across executive and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business strategy into functional compensation plans.
