Department: Human Resources

Acrisure Re is global reinsurance broker with a reputation for placing reinsurance programs covering complex and technical books of business. Founded in Toronto more than 25 years ago we are one of the few reinsurance brokers that work on Global reinsurance placements.

We act as a team to deliver success to our clients and to enable talent to thrive and develop. Innovation and creativity help us stand apart and underpin our growth. We empower our people and expect accountability and responsibility in turn, with ethics a critical component of everything we do.

Position Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays an important role in supporting business performance through the delivery of commercially focused, pragmatic HR advice. The role works closely with business leaders and HR functional teams (Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and HR Operations) to support the delivery of people strategies aligned with business objectives.

Success in this role is underpinned by a strong understanding of the business and the ability to build effective working relationships with leaders and employees. Through this partnership, the HRBP provides practical, solutions‑oriented guidance that supports commercial outcomes, employee experience, and effective risk management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to support leaders and employees by providing expert advice and guidance across a broad range of HR matters. This includes delivering pragmatic, commercially aligned people solutions that reflect business strategy, growth plans, HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, and best practice.

  • Leading and supporting employee relations matters, providing commercially aware guidance while managing risk and ensuring fair, consistent outcomes.
  • Applying employment legislation pragmatically and educating managers to mitigate risk and avoid potential litigation.
  • Supporting annual salary and bonus review processes.
  • Partnering with leaders to deliver annual and cyclical talent processes, including Talent Reviews and 9‑box assessments, providing insight, challenge, and calibration to support effective decision‑making.
  • Translating talent review outcomes into actionable development, retention, and succession plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Supporting identification of critical roles, high‑potential talent, and key risk areas, and partnering with Talent Development to address capability gaps.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and updating HR policies and guidance.
  • Supporting the implementation of HR initiatives, change programs, and process improvements.
  • Interpreting HR data (e.g., exit interview insights) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and contributing to evidence‑based recommendations.
  • Supporting the embedding of a new HRIS (Workday) and driving adoption of employee and manager self‑service.
  • Contributing to HR projects and initiatives, and undertaking other relevant activities as reasonably requested.

This description is not intended to be all‑inclusive and may be amended from time to time to reflect business needs.

Qualifications and Experience

You will be comfortable working proactively and independently while collaborating closely with others.
