Title: Union Benefits Specialist
Location: Long Island City, NY
Client: Large Facilities Services Organization
Pay: $60,000/year
Hours: 5 days/week in office, 9a-6p

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Union Benefits Specialist to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately input, maintain, and update employee benefits information, with a strong emphasis on working with 32BJ Union benefit programs. The ideal candidate will have prior hands‑on experience with union benefit structures, eligibility requirements, and reporting procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter and maintain employee benefits data in HR and union benefit systems.
  • Process enrollments, terminations, and benefit changes in accordance with 32BJ Union guidelines.
  • Review and verify benefit eligibility, deductions, and compliance with union contracts.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, payroll, and the 32BJ Benefit Funds office to ensure timely and accurate benefit processing.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit coverage, eligibility, and union-related matters.
  • Audit and reconcile benefit records to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Assist with benefit reporting, documentation, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience administering Union benefits.
  • Bilingual Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of union benefit plans, eligibility rules, and contribution structures.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience coordinating with payroll and union benefit funds.
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
