Job SummaryThe Recruitment Specialist is responsible for identifying and implementing marketing strategies aimed at recruiting prospective foster and adoptive parents for children and youth served by the Foster Care program. The Recruitment Specialist will provide outreach to prospective foster parents via social media, community outings, schools, and religious groups etc. Additionally, the Recruiter will train foster parent applicants in the National Training and Development Curriculum with TRIPP Principles model and approve foster/adoptive parents.
Also, the recruiter will make collaborative efforts to identify, support and engage qualified foster parents.
- Create and implement strategies for identifying prospective foster parents
- Utilize public relations, media contacts and community resources to aid in recruitment activities
- Participate in the thorough screening and investigation of prospective foster families utilizing the NYS Central Register
- Comply with the requirements of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services in opening, recertifying and/or reapproving foster/adoptive homes
- Conduct bi-weekly orientation to prospective foster parents
- Maintain case records for prospective foster parents
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of prospective foster parents and families
- Maintain accurate data of foster parents’ records in CONNECTIONS, BINTI , SharePoint and ASARA
- Conduct pretraining for all prospective foster parents to become certified
- Other duties as required by supervisor
- Bachelors - $29.12/hr - $31.04/hr
- Bachelors (Bilingual)- $30.22/hr - $32.15/hr
- Masters - $30.22/hr - $33.24/hr
- Masters (Bilingual) - $31.59/hr - $34.34/hr
- Masters (Bilingual & License) - $34.43/hr - $37.09/hr
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related subject from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate experience in the field of child welfare, with one year of experience in foster care and adoption preferred
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent Organizational, verbal and written communication skills required
- Skill in identifying and building a network of multi-level community relationships
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel in and around the metropolitan New York City region
