Principal Consultant – Energy, Infrastructure & Digital Infrastructure (NYC)
Location: New York City (4 days in office / 1 WFH day)
Compensation: Base $70-$90k + strong commission

My client is a global recruitment business specialising in energy, natural resources, infrastructure, digital infrastructure and financial services. Since 2010 they have become a major player in the global energy transition, supporting projects from financing and development to engineering, construction and long‑term operations.
With multiple offices across the US, UK, Europe and APAC, they are growing rapidly in the American market — and are now expanding their New York team with experienced, commercially driven Principal 360 Recruiters.
The OpportunityThis is a high‑impact role for recruiters who want to build, own and scale a desk in one of the highest‑growth markets in the US.
You will focus on one of the following verticals:
- Energy & Infrastructure Finance (PE, IB, Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, Legal)
- Digital Infrastructure (data centres, mechanical engineering, development, commercial roles)
- Energy / Infrastructure technical & commercial markets
You’ll be expected to originate business, drive BD activity, run full 360 processes, and become a subject‑matter expert in your chosen niche.
My client has warm job flow and existing accounts, but they are looking specifically for proactive BD‑led Principals who thrive in job‑short markets and know how to win.
Key Responsibilities- Full 360 recruitment: BD, client acquisition, search, delivery, offer management
- Build and own a niche vertical within Energy, Infrastructure or Digital Infrastructure
- Drive consistent BD activity: meetings, pitches, mapping, relationship‑building
- Win retainers and multi‑hire mandates
- Collaborate with a high‑performing US Perm team
- Meet and exceed revenue targets (aiming for $400K+ within 12–18 months)
- Progress quickly into team leadership if desired
You will be a strong fit if you have:
- 2–5+ years of 360 recruitment experience
, ideally in - A proven track record of client origination and BD success
- Experience in job‑short or competitive markets (Finance, Engineering, Tech, Energy, Pharma, Digital Infra, Professional Services etc.)
- Strong commercial instincts, resilience and the ability to create job flow from scratch
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ambition to build a desk, grow revenue and progress quickly
Sector experience is flexible — what matters is commercial drive and BD capability

- Base salary: Up to ~$90K for exceptional candidates
- Commission: 25%+ of quarterly billings
- Warm markets with proven demand — e.g., digital infrastructure already billing $300K in 6 months
- Clear growth path into Senior Principal or Team Lead
- 4 days in the office
