The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Director or a Vice President (based on experience) to lead and develop our People & Culture function. This role is based in our New York City office and reports directly to the President.

This role will serve as a strategic and operational leader, responsible for building, evolving, and leading all aspects of HR. This individual will play a critical role in establishing scalable processes, strengthening organizational culture, and partnering with leadership to drive business performance through people strategies.

What you will do:
  • Lead and develop a team spanning the full scope of People & Culture, including Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and Culture
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders and team members (union and non‑union), providing strategic guidance, thought leadership, and hands‑on execution in a fast‑paced environment
  • Design and execute a comprehensive strategy aligned to business priorities, including career pathing, performance management, coaching, compensation and rewards, learning and development, organisational design, and leadership development
  • Identify organisational challenges, root causes, and implement scalable solutions, building sustainable and repeatable processes
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, fairness, accountability, innovation, and integrity
  • Create programs and initiatives that drive employee engagement and strengthen culture across the organization
  • Lead and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting thorough, objective, and effective investigations
  • Identify organisational and individual development needs, including leadership training and coaching opportunities
  • Leverage data, trends, and metrics to inform decisions and develop effective people programmes and workplace policies
  • Support labour relations, including employee relations, grievance management, contract negotiations, and interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintain deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations to mitigate risk and ensure compliance; partner closely with Legal as needed
  • Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, including coaching, counselling, career development, and disciplinary actions
Skills you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 + years of progressive experience in Human Resources including employee relations, recruitment, training and development, compensation, and benefits programmes, as well as application of legal and government compliance guidelines
  • Hands‑on labour relations experience, including contract negotiation and administration
