Location: New York
We are looking for a result-driven and business-minded HRBP Associate / People Operations Associate to support our people management and organizational planning functions. This role will work closely with leadership and department managers to translate business goals into headcount plans, performance goals, KPI tracking, and annual compensation planning. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable connecting business goals with people management.
Key Responsibilities Workforce Planning & Headcount Management- Work with leadership and department managers to understand business goals and translate them into headcount needs.
- Maintain and update department headcount plans, organizational charts, and staffing forecasts.
- Track approved positions, open headcount, internal transfers, and role changes.
- Support management in evaluating whether new headcount requests are aligned with business priorities and budget.
- Assist in designing clear KPIs and performance goals for employees based on department objectives.
- Work with managers to ensure each employee has measurable goals, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
- Track KPI progress and help prepare regular performance review materials.
- Support annual, mid-year, and ad hoc performance review cycles.
- Identify performance gaps and help managers create improvement plans when needed.
- Support annual salary review and compensation planning processes.
- Maintain compensation records, salary adjustment proposals, promotion records, and bonus tracking.
- Help analyze salary levels, internal equity, performance results, and budget impact.
- Prepare compensation summaries and reports for management review.
- Act as a support partner to managers on employee performance, role clarity, team structure, and people-related decisions.
- Help document employee responsibilities, reporting lines, and promotion paths.
- Support employee communication related to performance reviews, KPI expectations, compensation updates, and role changes.
- Assist with employee relations documentation and follow-up when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in HR, people operations, business operations, compensation, performance management, or a related analytical role.
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; comfortable working with data, reports, and tracking files.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential employee information.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with managers across different departments.
- Strong sense of ownership, organization, and follow-through.
- Interest in growing into an HRBP, People Operations, or HR management role.
- Experience supporting performance review cycles, KPI tracking, compensation planning, or headcount planning.
- Experience in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, e-commerce, logistics, retail, or trading company environment.
