About Clay

Clay’s mission is to help organizations turn any growth idea into reality. We view growth as a creative practice rather than a formula, and we help teams iterate uniquely to reach their best‑fit customers. We have partnered with Anthropic, Notion, Google, and Ramp to bring data, signals, and AI research to market.

In 2025 we raised $100M in Series C funding and crossed $100M in revenue. In 2026 we announced a new $5B valuation and launched a community equity round for customers, agency partners, and club members.

Our community consists of 11,000+ customers, 150+ integration partners, 125+ agencies, 50+ Clay clubs, and 30,000 members on Slack. Team members hold diverse passions—from DJing to marathon running—and all employees can work with world‑class coaches in creativity, management, and more.

People Operations – Benefits & Systems

People Operations at Clay builds the environment where the team can perform at their best. As we expand, we need an associate who will own benefits administration, HR systems, and the processes that support our people.

The role blends hands‑on administration with process improvement and demands genuine care for employees, strong ownership, and a knack for scaling systems.

What You’ll Do Benefits Administration
  • Manage day‑to‑day administration of global benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, and retirement.
  • Build out benefit programs in new markets to deliver a consistent Clay experience worldwide.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits questions and ensure clear, timely communication.
  • Regularly evaluate benefit plans to maintain competitiveness and align with employee needs.
  • Lead open enrollment from start to finish: communication, system setup, and vendor coordination.
  • Partner with brokers and vendors on renewals, issue resolution, and benefit strategy.
  • Maintain compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and related regulations.
  • Audit benefits data regularly to identify and correct discrepancies.
HR Systems
  • Primary administrator for our HRIS, Rippling, managing employee records, workflows, and permissions.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards in Rippling to support the People team and business needs.
  • Configure and maintain integrations between Rippling and benefit systems.
  • Set up and manage automated workflows for onboarding, offboarding, status changes, and benefits updates.
  • Own vendor relationships for People systems, including renewals, contract reviews, and new tool evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot issues and serve as the main point of contact for Rippling support.
  • Develop documentation and process guides to help the team use these tools effectively.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve employee communication.
Build Scalable Processes and Infrastructure
  • Develop documentation, workflows, and audit processes for benefits and systems as the company grows.
  • Ensure data integrity to support reporting, compliance, and decision‑making.
  • Anticipate issues before they become employee‑facing problems.
Partner Across the Business
  • Advise People teams, managers, and employees on benefits and systems questions with clear, practical guidance.
  • Translate complex benefits and systems topics into plain language for all levels.
  • Contribute to broader People Operations initiatives as the organization expands.
What You’ll Bring Experience & Expertise
  • 5+ years in benefits administration, HR systems, or a combination of both.
  • Hands‑on experience with an HRIS.
  • Strong understanding of benefits compliance requirements.
  • Experience building or improving processes at a scaling company.
Core Competencies
  • Autonomy and ownership: take full accountability for work, follow through, and prevent tasks from falling through the cracks.
  • Genuine care for employees and clear, timely support.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in benefits and systems.
  • Outstanding communication skills; translate complex topics into plain language.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building structure from scratch.
  • Bias toward action balanced with careful compliance judgment.

Compensation Range: $175,000 – $225,000
