OverviewSuccess awaits a hands‑on, personable, motivated, and professional People + Culture Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced, high‑energy and empowered individual who will proactively provide constant support and guidance to our entire team regarding people resources, systems and SOPs.
Responsibilities- Assist Director of People and Culture with communication, including answering phone calls and taking messages
- Maintain calendar, schedule meetings and appointments
- Assist in preparing regularly scheduled reports
- Provide timely assistance to team members by answering employee requests and questions
- Assist with recruitment and interview process, submit new‑employee background checks
- Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR
- Prepare offer packets, benefit packets and other employee information
- Coordinate new hire paperwork and new hire orientation meetings
- Complete Forms I‑9, verify I‑9 documentation and maintain I‑9 files
- Administer employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
- Reconcile benefits statements
- Assist with colleague recognition, reward and incentive programs
- Assist in coordinating and managing employee training
- Complete employment verifications and unemployment claims
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws
- Oversee organizational processes within department, such as file audits, paperwork maintenance, etc.
- Update department logs and spreadsheets
- Maintain filing and organization for HR department
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time‑management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Approach all encounters with guests and colleagues in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service‑oriented manner
- Comply with Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
- Must be proactive in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving issues as necessary
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required/PHR or SPHR certified preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience actively serving in human resource management in a hotel/resort environment
- Required proficiency, knowledge, and experience in all HR processes: selection & employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, employment law, workers compensation and talent management
- Experience in ADP Workforce Now is a plus
