I am Applying for Talent Development Specialist - New York
The Talent Development Specialist supports attorney development, morale, engagement, mentoring and diversity and inclusion initiatives firmwide.
Reports to the Talent Development Senior Manager and partners with the Global Talent team to execute projects, including Mentoring@Dechert, exit interviews and related data, industry surveys, feedback initiatives, managing the Global Associates Committee, talent awards program and diversity and inclusion efforts.
Helps prepare qualitative and quantitative data from evaluations, exit interviews, surveys, and related sources to generate and deliver reports for stakeholders that identify trends and inform talent strategies.
Works with senior leadership to develop firmwide communications, meetings, and presentations, including the annual State of the Firm and quarterly leadership presentations.
Prepares productivity and performance data and agenda for monthly meetings between Talent team and Engagement Liaison Partners(“ELP”) and Practice Group Directors.
Job Description
- Provide support for the exit interview process for associates, counsel and business service professionals, including maintaining the departure information database and quarterly reports to identify opportunities to improve retention and engagement.
- Support attorney satisfaction surveys, articles and other submissions.
- Support firmwide associate/partner and business service professionals mentoring programs, including maintaining related databases and helping design curriculum and relevant training.
- Support aspects of the associate and counsel evaluation and help manage the upward review process.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the firm’s policies and procedures relating to performance ratings, critical skills competencies and advancement. Support other projects and initiatives of the Talent Team to foster a supportive, high-performance culture.
- Analyze multiple sources of data to assist in the preparation and delivery of reports that identify trends and inform talent strategies, including performance review trends.
- Work with the Global Associates Committee to prepare monthly meeting agendas.
- Oversee firmwide peer-nominated Talent Awards program, recognizing individuals who champion diversity, innovation, and teaching.
- Work on diversity and inclusion initiatives relating to performance and engagement.
- Perform all duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Global Talent Department and the firm.
QUALIFICATIONS/ KSA’s :
- Bachelor’s Degree – required.
- At least three years of professional development experience in a national or international law firm preferred.
- Experience with Workday preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong follow through.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to prioritize projects and coordinate own work.
- Capable of working within deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Familiarity with vi Desktop preferred.
Additional Job Description
At the time of this posting, the salary range for this position in New York is $80,000 to $100,000 annually. Actual compensation is commensurate with job related knowledge, skills, experience and location of the position.
