Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Rochester, New York. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to employee data management, benefits administration, and human resource information system maintenance. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities- Organize and maintain employee personnel files both digitally and physically
- Manage the HRIS system, including launching onboarding, updating access, assigning/removing users in supervisor groups, and generating necessary reports
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including approving benefit changes and adding/removing employee benefits
- Assist in the management of leave of absences, including paperwork completion and system updates
- Handle staffing announcements for new hires, interns, and separations
- Manage the Vanguard 401k website, including adding/removing employees & updating 401k contribution changes
- Use HRMS, About Time, Benefit Functions, Compensation Administration, Compliance, Employee Relations, Paycom, and Paylocity to perform tasks efficiently
- Track missed benefit payments for employees on leave
- Stay updated on compliance and employee relations.
- Proficient in HRMS and About Time software systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration.
- Must have a clear understanding and ability to ensure Compliance in HR practices.
- Proven experience in managing Employee Relations.
- Familiarity with Paycom and Paylocity platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar role will be considered an advantage.
