Location: New York

Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a People Operations Associate to join their HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with HR systems, employee data, onboarding, and process improvement in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is an open-ended full-time contract opportunity with overtime eligibility and strong potential for long-term growth.

Compensation
  • $33-$38/hour (based experience)
  • Full-time, 40+ hours per week
  • Onsite Monday-Friday in Midtown Manhattan
What You'll Do
  • Maintain and update employee records throughout the employee lifecycle within the HRIS.
  • Support new hire onboarding by coordinating documentation, system setup, and onboarding logistics.
  • Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and organizational changes.
  • Review HR data for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and complete regular audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and internal stakeholders to process employee transactions efficiently.
  • Assist with payroll-related activities, timesheet reviews, and benefit file administration.
  • Prepare employment verification requests and other HR documentation.
  • Coordinate contractor onboarding, including agreements, background checks, and system access.
  • Monitor contractor assignments and assist with contract extensions and renewals.
  • Support vendor invoice processing and contractor administration.
  • Generate reports and analyze HR data using Excel and HR systems to support business needs.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline People Operations workflows.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HRIS, HR Administration, or a related function.
  • Experience working within an HRIS such as Workday, Oracle HCM, SAP Success Factors, or a similar platform.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding, HR data management, or contractor administration is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • HR reporting or analytics experience.
  • Process improvement initiatives within an HR or People Operations team.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Tableau is a plus.
