Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Location: New York
Our client, a leader in aviation, is seeking a Temporary Employee Relations Specialist.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting geographically dispersed operations, partnering with union representatives, and providing practical solutions in a fast‑paced, highly regulated transportation or aviation setting.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations- Manage a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, performance concerns, attendance issues, workplace conflicts, and policy violations.
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial workplace investigations involving employee complaints, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct allegations.
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations best practices and consistent application of company policies.
- Develop recommendations that balance operational requirements, legal compliance, and employee experience.
- Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements across multiple union-represented employee groups.
- Partner with operational leaders and union representatives to resolve workplace concerns and grievances.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
- Interpret and apply company policies, employment guidelines, and labor agreements consistently.
- Maintain documentation and case records in accordance with legal and company requirements.
- Assist in policy development, revisions, and implementation.
Qualifications
Required- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5+ years of employee relations experience.
- Experience supporting unionized work forces and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong knowledge of federal employment laws and multi-state labor regulations.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations.
- Excellent conflict resolution, mediation, and communication skills.
- Aviation, airline, transportation, logistics, or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Experience supporting geographically dispersed or multi-state employee populations.
