The Benefits Manager is an on-site role located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for managing employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, leave of absence programs, and other ancillary benefits. The Benefits Manager will oversee day-to-day administration, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, collaborate with vendors, and support benefits-related audits and reporting.
This position partners closely with HR leadership, payroll, and other internal stakeholders to resolve benefits issues, analyze plan performance, and recommend program enhancements. The Benefits Manager also provides guidance to team members on benefits options, supports open enrollment activities, and contributes to communication strategies that promote understanding and utilization of the benefits offerings.
- Demonstrated expertise in employee benefits administration, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, and leave management.
- Strong knowledge of benefits compliance and regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) and experience working with plan documents and policies.
- Ability to analyze benefits data, prepare reports, and use HRIS or benefits administration systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex benefits concepts, support team members, and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating with benefits vendors and brokers, including plan renewals, issue resolution, and implementation of new programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced certifications such as CEBS, PHR, or SHRM-CP are a plus.
- Prior experience in a health care or large, complex organization is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
