Our client is a growing financial services firm seeking an Associate Vice President of Human Resources. The AVP of Human Resources will partner closely with the Head of Human Resources and serve as a strong number 2 across HR operations, including the full employee lifecycle, including talent management, compensation, benefits, payroll, performance management, employee relations, recruiting, compliance, and organizational development. This individual contributor role requires rolling up your sleeves and doing the day to work.

The team is in the office in Midtown 4 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute day-to-day Human Resources operations and serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership
  • Own onboarding, offboarding, promotions, compensation changes, leaves, and other employee lifecycle activities
  • Manage payroll and benefits administration, partnering with Finance, external providers, and advisors to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Lead annual compensation and bonus planning, benchmarking, workforce planning, and related analysis
  • Oversee performance management, talent reviews, employee development, and succession planning
  • Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategy, candidate assessment, offers, and onboarding
  • Maintain and enhance HR systems, reporting, employee data, and operational processes
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, and best practices
  • Partner with employment counsel and external advisors on employment law, regulatory, and immigration matters
  • Lead employee engagement, culture, retention, and organizational development initiatives
  • Produce and analyze workforce reporting related to headcount, compensation, hiring, and other key HR trends
  • Identify opportunities to improve and scale HR processes as the organization continues to grow
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Significant progressive Human Resources experience, ideally within financial services, investment management, professional services, or another fast-paced corporate environment
  • Broad HR generalist experience with strong knowledge of compensation, payroll, benefits, recruiting, performance management, and employee relations
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with compensation data, workforce reporting, and Excel
  • Experience working with HRIS and performance management platforms
  • Strong knowledge of employment practices and HR compliance
  • Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee and compensation matters
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate effectively in a lean, fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative and comfortable working directly with senior executives, employees, Finance, Legal, and external partners
