Human Resources Manager

Our client, a start-up in the nutrition and wellness space, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. The position is hybrid and based 4 out of 5 days per week at their office in Long Island City.
Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is a requirement of this position.
Job Details

• Manage HR operations for non-exempt employee population of 100+ in two locations nationwide

• Conduct onboardings and orientations

• Act as a resource for HR questions on policies, benefits, and more

• Manage leaves of absence, workers’ comp., and unemployment claims

• Facilitate biweekly payroll, including managing data in timesheet system and HRIS

• Manage employee relations, conduct investigations, and resolve issues as needed

• Research, design, and implement HR policies

• Ensure total compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and statutes

• Pay Rate: $50-60 per hour, based on experience

• Time Commitment: 35-40 hours per week, temporary, with potential to go perm!

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required

• 3-5 years’ experience managing Human Resources operations for large employee populations

• Must be bilingual – English and Spanish fluency required

• Deep working knowledge of labor laws and regulations – New York and California, specifically

• Highest standard of confidentiality and discretion
