Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 + Discretionary Bonus
Position OverviewA leading global financial services organization is seeking a bilingual Japanese-English Global Mobility Manager to join its Human Resources team in New York. This role will oversee all aspects of international assignments and mobility programs, serving as a key liaison between U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders.
The successful candidate will manage global mobility operations, support expatriate employees throughout their assignment lifecycle, ensure compliance with immigration, payroll, and tax requirements, and collaborate with both internal teams and external service providers.

-Japan experience and a background in international HR, payroll, tax, and expatriate administration.
- Manage all aspects of global mobility, including relocation, immigration, payroll, tax, benefits, and assignment administration.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of international assignments from initiation through repatriation.
- Act as the primary liaison between U.S. HR, Japan headquarters, business leaders, assignees, and external vendors.
- Ensure compliance with immigration, payroll, tax, and employment regulations.
- Partner with legal counsel and service providers on immigration matters and policy administration.
- Manage relationships with relocation, tax, payroll, immigration, and benefits vendors.
- Review, develop, and enhance mobility policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- Support cross-border employee transfers and expatriate programs.
- Lead, coach, and develop Global Mobility team members.
- Provide guidance and support to senior management on mobility-related matters.
- Maintain accurate mobility records and reporting through HRIS and payroll systems.
- Business-fluent or native-level Japanese and English language proficiency.
- 7-10+ years of experience in Global Mobility, International HR, or a related field.
- Experience managing international assignments and expatriate populations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Immigration processes
- Global mobility programs
- Payroll administration
- International tax compliance
- HRIS systems
- Relocation and benefits administration
- Previous experience managing or mentoring team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience supporting U.S.
-Japan mobility programs. - Background in financial services, banking, securities, or multinational corporations.
- Knowledge of mobility-related accounting and cost allocation.
- Experience working with headquarters and regional HR teams across multiple countries.
