The Department of Design and Construction’s Division of Human Resources and Staff Development (HRSD) supports agency employees by promoting communication, transparency, and collaboration. HRSD provides information and resources related to employment opportunities, training, benefits, and agency policies. As part of HRSD, the Recruitment and Retention Unit addresses staffing needs and implements effective policies and processes to attract and retain a high-quality workforce.
The Recruitment and Retention Unit is seeking a Senior Recruitment and Retention Analyst.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Deputy Director of Recruitment and Retention, the selected candidate will support the agency’s recruitment and retention goals by performing the following responsibilities:
- Responding promptly and professionally to Human Resources inquiries from DDC employees, providing accurate information and appropriate guidance;
- Creating and maintaining job postings in NYCAPS for agency vacancies and ensure postings are distributed through the DDC HUB and appropriate external recruitment platforms;
- Reviewing resumes to determine whether candidates meet the minimum qualifications for agency roles;
- Developing and maintaining a broad recruitment network through college and university outreach, campus visits, career fairs, recruitment events, professional organizations, and other community partnerships;
- Coordinating and tracking recruitment activities and maintaining Recruitment Logs and related tracking systems;
- Administering civil service hiring pools in accordance with agency needs and civil service rules, ensuring due diligence and the timely completion of list-action appointments within DCAS time frames;
- Monitoring and tracking civil service appointments, title maturations, and related personnel actions;
- Serving as an agency liaison with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) and DDC employees regarding civil service title transfers (DP-72s), and ensure required final approvals are obtained from DCAS (DP-189s);
- Tracking probationary periods and conditional resignations and issuing timely reminders to agency representatives;
- Researching and analyzing information related to the civil service status of employees and candidates, including preparing provisional reports and cost charts for civil service appointments for internal updates and requested submissions to DCAS;
- Providing training and coaching Recruitment and Retention Analysts and college aides;
- Assisting with special projects, process improvements, and other duties as assigned.
Please note:
All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). Additionally, educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.
