Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the HR team under the direction of the Adams Lake Band’s Human Resources Director. The individual’s main responsibilities will be to provide support across all aspects of Human Resources operations and assist in the implementation of HR systems, programs, documentation, and policies. The incumbent is responsible for responding to general inquiries related to employment, maintaining employee records, coordinating various recruitment activities, assisting with onboarding and orientation, managing employee benefits, and providing general administration support to the Director of HR.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain HRIS system (ADP – Workforce now) reporting on key HR metrics and generating reports for various HR metrics and analytics.
- Support the introduction and maintenance of the Intranet.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee’s inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures;
- Manage the recruitment process in conjunction with the Director of HR including but not limited to developing job postings, advertisement, scheduling interviews, developing interview questions, reference checks, letters of offer and onboarding.
- Maintain the Org Chart
- Participate in the management of health and safety.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and assist in organizing employee events/activities.
- Contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborate with the HR Director to communicate and educate employees on available benefits and programs.
- Assist in ad hoc HR Projects.
- Support the HR Director with administrative requests and activities.
- Completion of post-secondary education with an HR focus; or equivalent experience and skills.
- CPHR designation is an asset.
- Proven experience across Human Resources.
- Experience in a First Nations environment, including experience with funding agencies, culture and traditions.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
- Proficient in HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Experience with UKG/ADP HRIS – Workforce Now, Ready considered an asset.
- Proficiency is MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Pro, and other HR Software applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build relationships easily.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Full time temporary 6 month term position
Wage range: $37 - $45 per hour
Location:
6453 Hillcrest Rd, Chase BC this position is expected to be primarily in office.
Hours per week: up to 75 hours biweekly (up to a max 37.5 hrs./week), with flexibility in hours/days of work.
