POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Human Resources will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Director of Human Resources with the oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. This position will administer established organizational HR policies, procedures, and practices and regularly review them to ensure continued compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards, providing recommendations to the Director as appropriate.
The Assistant Director will oversee HR data collection, dissemination, integrity, and analysis; identify trends and provide data-driven insights to support informed decision-making. The position will also ensure that HRIS processes and business practices align with the goals and operational needs of the organization and Human Resources Department. Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee, and support training initiatives developed for staff and department supervisors, supervise less senior HR professionals as needed, and serve as the acting head of the Human Resources Department in the HR Director's absence.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Supervision of human resources documents related to mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications.
- Provide assistance, as needed, to the Director of Employee Relations and Compliance, with employee termination or investigations in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with all benefits programs, including conducting analyses and act as a point of contact in the HR Director's absence with providers including group health, workers' compensation, unemployment and retirement plans.
- Support the ongoing administration of HR services and functions as directed or assigned, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, affirmative action/EEO compliance, workers' compensation, leaves of absence, and job classification, while ensuring alignment with quality management principles and the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
