The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position SummaryReporting to the Sr. Director, Finance, HR & EDM Applications; the Lead People Soft HR Developer (Techno-Functional) will work with the People at Columbia (PAC) People Soft HRMS & Payroll Functional and Development teams to develop application code, unit test and troubleshoot issues for Columbia University's People Soft Human Resources application. The Lead People Soft HR Developer (Techno-Functional) will have deep functional knowledge of Oracle/Peoplesoft, TLAM, Human Resources and Payroll business processes and will act as the senior business analyst for the PAC team.
Responsibilities- Act as Subject Matter Expert and primary contact for system users for functional and technical support covering various HCM modules like TLAM and Payroll.
- Provide ongoing support and expertise People Soft TLAM/Payroll.
- Strong Knowledge of TLAM configuration management principles.
- Conducts impact analysis, application development and unit testing to ensure the quality of the PAC systems application’s current design and development standards.
- New process/code development; custom enhancements to existing code, application patches/fixes/upgrades.
- Data and/or process analysis; code documentation; performance tuning; enhancements.
- Works closely with the project managers, functional team members and system administration teams to design, develop, test and implement project related changes.
- Works in a technical and business analyst capacity with a good understanding of HRMS and Payroll business processes, functionalities, relational databases and People Soft table structure.
- Develops business requirements documentation, process workflow diagrams, and functional specifications, user acceptance test scripts, and other supporting documentation required for HRMS and Payroll changes.
- Prepares functional and technical documentation necessary to support business process changes or creation.
- Quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of the client’s organization and industry.
- Leads testing efforts.
- Updates documentation and modifies impacted processes for database platforms when necessary.
- Creates and reviews Technical and Functional Designs; unit testing; bundling/un-bundling of code using People Tools 8.58 or later versions of Tools and Oracle.
- Weekend and off-hour work may be necessary on occasion.

- Bachelor’s degree required and/or its equivalent required.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ related experience.
- 5+ years’ relevant work experience with People Soft 8.x (v. 9.0 is plus) development experience with People Soft HR applications.
- Experience working on enterprise wide projects a must.
- Two full lifecycle People Soft HR, Payroll and/or Finance implementation experience.
- 5 years’ experience with People Soft development tools and Oracle SQL.
- 5+ years’ People Soft development and integration experience with upgrades and patches.
- 5+ years’ experience developing People Soft interfaces into legacy and 3rd party systems.
- Strong knowledge of application development tools.
