Location: New York

The North America Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing day to day Human Resources operations across the United States and Canada, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and payroll management. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and managers while also providing guidance, coaching, and professional development to the Human Resources Coordinator to ensure efficient and effective HR service delivery.

Functions:

USA & CA Human Resources Management & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and performance management to the Human Resources Coordinator, including setting priorities, developing capabilities, and supporting professional growth.
  • Serve as the primary Human Resources point of contact for employees and managers across the United States and Canada.
  • Direct the new hire process, including offer letters, work authorizations, background checks, HRIS setup, and employee onboarding documentation.
  • Oversee and direct onboarding programs and ensure a consistent and compliant new hire experience across the United States and Canada.
  • Partner with managers and business leaders on recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring decisions; develop and maintain job descriptions that align with business needs and organizational requirements; and coordinate HR trainings.
  • Respond to and manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance management, performance improvement plans, employee separations, and severance administration.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, 401(k), open enrollment, vendor management, compliance, employee communications, and ongoing support.
  • Administer and oversee employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, accommodation requests, state and provincial leave requirements, and return-to-work processes.
  • Oversee workers' compensation administration, workplace injury reporting, OSHA recordkeeping, and related compliance processes; partner with managers to support safety initiatives, claims management, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate company policies, employee handbooks, and HR procedures to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local regulations.
  • Manage employment-related compliance requirements and filings, including unemployment claims, ACA reporting, and other federal, state, and provincial reporting obligations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee programs while managing relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

US Payroll Management & Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-state payroll for salaried, hourly, and 1099 workers across the United States.
  • Monitor and reconcile paid time off, leave balances, and accrual programs to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Develop and implement payroll operations policies and ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.
  • Oversee employee and manager training related to ADP Workforce and HRIS processes.
  • Manage all new hire onboarding, terminations, rehires, and department transfers in ADP.
  • Create and distribute various reports related to payroll used for financial analysis, audits and projections, human capital management, benefit plans payments and management.
  • Prepare, review, distribute, submit and audit all reports related to payroll processing, employment taxes and benefit plans (W2, 1099, 941, 5500, 1095 unemployment, state registrations, etc.).
