We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to report to our VP of Research & Development and play a key role in transforming how learning disabilities are assessed. In this role, you’ll drive high-impact data and modeling initiatives that power Marker’s AI-enabled platform and directly improve outcomes for the 1 in 4 students who need better support.

You’ll work at the intersection of applied machine learning, clinical rigor, and real-world deployment - helping advance assessments for students with learning disabilities and English Language Learner (ELL) populations, with a long-term vision of expanding access across all K–college learners in the U.S. and globally.

This is a hands‑on role for someone excited to build, evaluate, and scale data‑driven systems in a high‑stakes, mission‑critical domain.

• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Design, Psychometrics, Clinical, and Engineering teams to translate assessment and research requirements into scalable, production‑ready software.
• Design, develop, and deploy AI‑powered scoring algorithms that improve assessment accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility for students with diverse learning needs.
• Create behavioral analysis models that provide deeper insights into student performance patterns and learning profiles.
• Own the full lifecycle of data science projects—from initial research and prototyping through production deployment and ongoing optimization.
• Make decisions about data infrastructure, model architecture, and deployment strategies that will scale with our growth from pre‑PMF through market expansion.

• 6–7+ years of experience, including 0–1 or early‑stage startup environments.
• Prior founding data scientist or lead data scientist experience a strong plus; roles like Senior Data Scientist, Staff Data Scientist, or Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer with strong applied ML experience.
• Track record of shipping complex products quickly without sacrificing quality or compliance.
• Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field.
